Fund the Gap
Capital Campaign – Phase 2
What River Oak is Doing
With its largest enrollment ever, River Oak is educating 171 students in 2023-2024 and planning for 200 students in 2024-2025, with two sections each of Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten and a robust complement of middle school classes specifically designed to prepare students for high school.
Despite the challenge of space constraints at its current location, River Oak students consistently achieve significantly higher standardized test scores than do those in other area schools. Adhering to its mission of academic excellence and strong biblical foundation, River Oak attracts students from over thirty-five mid-Missouri churches. River Oak Christian Academy is known for its outstanding teachers and family-focused culture, partnering together to teach its students the truth of God’s Word.
We have seen firsthand the quality of the Christian education River Oak’s teachers and administrators provide to students. When parents and their children are being turned away from having the opportunity to be a part of this quality education because of the limits of the school building, we know it’s time to invest in its growth. It is a duty of the highest calling to educate our children with a Christian foundation and to support as many families as we can to meet the growing demand for high-quality Christian education in the Jefferson City area.

The Project
Located at 3308 West Edgewood Drive and estimated at 44,000 square feet, a new school building and campus will include:
- Classroom space for pre-kindergarten – eighth grade
- Administrative offices
- Cafeteria with kitchen space
- Fully functional gymnasium for PE classes, athletic team practices, and large events
- A well-designed drop-off/pick-up area to allow efficient traffic flow
- Increased playground space
Why We Need Your Help
While reconstruction of an existing building is less expensive than building “from scratch,” costs to transform the building from its prior use to a design suitable for the school are projected to be $10.1 million. As conscientious stewards of God’s blessings and resources, the school board desires to be debt-free when it moves into the new building. We believe many Christians in mid-Missouri recognize the value River Oak brings to the community and share our desire to invest in children who will have a lifelong impact for Christ. Will you join us in this endeavor? Any gift will help. We trust the Lord to move in the hearts of His people and will praise Him for every response, large or small. Thank you!
River Oak Christian Academy strives for excellance in teaching our students both academically and spiritually. We intentionally work to develop relationships with our families, churches, and community in fostering the development of each student. This is an integral part of all that we do in assisting children to see God’s intention and purpose for them. We desire for each child to not only know but develop their God-given gifts and characteristics to serve God and glorify Him. What an amazing gift to see God’s hand in the learning and daily teaching of our students.

Help Us Fund the Gap
River Oak Christian Academy has provided a Christ-centered and high-quality education to hundreds of pre-K through 8th-grade students over the last 17 years. Traditionally occupying rented space, the school board decided in 2020 to launch a capital campaign aimed at securing a larger and permanent home, with a gymnasium and enough classroom space for two sections of each grade level. The Lord blessed that effort with a successful campaign that raised over $6 million in gifts and pledges. Last year, the school bought a commercial building prominently located at 3308 West Edgewood Drive and hired an architect to design a reconstruction of the interior space, with plans to move into the new location for the 2025-2026 school year.
If we had to do it today, we would do it differently. We would seek out a school like River Oak Christian Academy. And the reason for that is it is very Christ-centered. We think that is an important aspect as you raise young people, not just elementary, but junior high and high school as well. It is just an important part of their development.
